The other day I found a very interesting article by Business Insider that explained some of the most common misconceptions about perfume. In this post, I am sharing them with you. I hope you enjoy it!

BELIEVE ONE: COLOGNE IS FOR MEN AND PERFUME IS FOR WOMEN
TRUTH:
Perfume is a unisex term. The difference between perfume and cologne is merely the concentration of essential oils in the fragrance. The Eau de cologne contains between 2% and 4% of oils and last less than 2 hours whereas the Eau de perfume contains 10%-15%. Therefore, perfume is just a general gender-neutral term.

BELIEVE TWO: FRAGRANCES SHOULD BE STORED IN THE BATHROOM
TRUTH:
Heat and moisture can cause the scent oils to break down faster, spoiling the fragrances scent. For this reason, we recommend to storage someplace dry and away from excessive temperature and sunlight. If you have the Scent&Colour tin, it will protect your fragrance.

BELIEVE THREE: YOUR SCENT ALWAYS SMELL THE SAME WAY
TRUTH:
It’s actually extremely hard to tell by sniffing a piece of paper (or feather) how a fragrance will smell on your skin. The tester surfaces are purely illustrative, they show a hint of how the perfume will smell on you. Furthermore, every skin’s composition is different and the same fragrance can and will smell slightly differently on other people’s skin. It is
